Ian Anderson
House
Ian Anderson House (IAH) is named in memory of Ian Anderson,
who was diagnosed with cancer in 1987 and who died at home, which was his
wish, in 1990. Funding for the creation of IAH was provided by the
Anderson family through the Ian Anderson House Foundation.
IAH, Ontarios first freestanding in-resident cancer
hospice, opened in November, 1997. The six bed hospice provides quality
end-of-life palliative care for residents, without charge, in a homelike
environment and offers support for the family as a unit.
IAH is a registered non-profit charitable organization
(charitable registration #13896 4602 RR0001). Since our current
government does not fund hospice care we must rely on the generosity of the
community-at-large and on our fund-raising events in order to continue to
offer care and support to our residents and their families. Income tax
receipts are issued for all donations of $15.00 and more.
