Rules
House rules are designed to respect the privacy of
each resident in a shared home environment. In keeping with our
philosophy of flexibility and ongoing improvement of the delivery of care,
House Rules and Procedures are subject to ongoing evaluation and change.
Residents and families will also be given all pertinent Policies and
Procedures, which will include safety and emergency procedures. No person
other than visitors of residents, services providers or volunteers, shall enter
IAH without prior approval.
Laundry Facilities All
laundry is done in-house.
Smoking IAH is a
smoke-free environment. Smoking, with supervision, is permitted outdoors
.
Fire Precautions In the
event of a fire drill, you will be given directions by the staff.
Visting Hours Families
and visitors are always welcome at IAH. While visting hours are
unrestricted, staff may limit the number of visitors if the resident wishes or
if it is felt to be in the best interest of the resident's health or of the
house in general. Overnight visitors are limited to two in a resident's
room.
Food We ask that family members provide
any special item of food for a resident that is not normally stocked.
Items of food or supplies that are brought in should be given to a staff member
or volunteer.
Pets Pets are welcome
visitors at IAH. Please advise the Home Co-ordinator of your intention to
bring a pet to the House.
Confidentiality Ensuring
confidentiality is a legal, professional and moral responsibility of all who
work and volunteer at IAH.
